Nicolas Cage is taking the end of Spider-Noir in stride.
After Prime Video decided not to move ahead with a second season of the superhero series, Cage shared a brief but characteristically Cage-like response, making it clear he sees the show’s one-season run as complete rather than unfinished.
In a statement to Deadline, Cage said one season was enough for the story he wanted to tell with this version of Spider-Man. He described the role as a “dangerous, innovative, pop-art Spider-Man” and added: “Onwards, upwards, inwards.”
Spider-Noir Cancelled at Prime Video After One Season
Spider-Noir was built around Cage’s take on the black-and-white, hard-boiled version of the Marvel hero, a character he previously voiced in the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Prime Video series leaned into a shadowy crime-drama style, mixing superhero mythology with noir atmosphere.
While fans may be disappointed that Spider-Noir Season 2 is not happening, Cage’s reaction suggests he views the project as a self-contained creative swing. Rather than framing the cancellation as a loss, he positioned the single season as the right amount of time for his version of the character.
