Amazon is making a much louder move into living-room gaming by placing Luna cloud-streamed games directly inside Prime Video. A new Games tab on Prime Video is now appearing on Fire TV devices, turning Amazon’s streaming app into a gateway for playable titles alongside movies, shows, and live sports.
The shift follows Amazon’s recent gaming reorganization, which brought Prime Gaming, Amazon Game Studios, and Luna under one roof. Instead of chasing the hardcore gaming crowd head-on, Amazon appears to be aiming at Prime Video viewers who may want something easy to play from the couch without buying a console or installing huge game files.
Amazon Luna on Prime Video: What’s new?
Luna was already included as part of Prime, but the friction was the problem. Many subscribers either did not know it existed or had to leave the Prime Video experience to find it. With the new Prime Video Games tab, Amazon is putting cloud gaming in front of the same audience already browsing for films, series, and sports.
For users in the US and UK, the Games tab on Fire TV devices now offers direct access to Luna titles through Prime Video. Amazon has not announced a wider EU rollout for this specific Prime Video integration at the time of writing.
Prime Video Games tab adds Fallout 4, Hogwarts Legacy, Dispatch, and EA Sports FC 26
The early lineup is designed to feel familiar rather than niche. Amazon is highlighting playable titles including Fallout 4, Hogwarts Legacy, Dispatch, and EA Sports FC 26. That mix makes sense: recognizable franchises lower the barrier for casual players who might be curious but not ready to subscribe to a dedicated gaming service on its own.
The bigger idea is convenience. If someone is already using Prime Video on Fire TV, the Games tab makes cloud gaming feel like another entertainment row rather than a separate hobby. That is exactly the kind of placement that could help Luna reach households that never considered game streaming before.
Why Amazon is putting cloud gaming inside a streaming app
Amazon’s strategy points to a broader change in how streaming platforms are thinking about engagement. Netflix has been experimenting with games for years, while Amazon has a major advantage in hardware through Fire TV and in subscriptions through Prime. By blending Prime Video and Luna cloud gaming, Amazon can keep users inside its ecosystem for longer sessions.
This also gives Amazon a clearer identity in gaming. Rather than trying to beat consoles at their own game, Luna can become the casual, low-effort option: open Prime Video, pick a game, and start playing. For families, occasional players, and anyone who prefers entertainment without extra setup, that approach may be more persuasive than a traditional gaming pitch.
