Dreamscape has unveiled a trailer for Round the Decay, an indie horror film by Adam Newman (known for Everwinter Night). The movie offers a fresh twist on monster movies, blending psychological and folk horror. It draws inspiration from Pumpkinhead and Cube. The film is set to release in October. It follows a young woman returning to Newport’s Valley, NH, where a dark secret lurks in this quiet tourist town. Starring Victoria Mirrer as Kenzie, the cast also includes Damian Maffei, Sienna Hubert-Ross, Melody Kay, Phil Duran, Sarah Nicklin, and Roger Clark. “Round the Decay has heart and character, but it also delivers scares and gore. Plus, it features a new, original monster designed by special effects artist Greg McDougall,” the team says. The monster isn’t shown yet, so stay tuned. Here’s the first official trailer and poster for Adam Newman’s Round the Decay, directly from YouTube:
When prominent locals take in a lost hiker named Kenzie, newcomer Roz and the mysterious outsider Munroe find themselves trapped. They get caught between the leaders of the town’s factions and become entangled in an ancient, sinister plot. This plot dates back to the town’s founder and threatens both the town’s survival and their lives.
Round The Decay is written and directed by American indie horror filmmaker Adam Newman, known for Ice Patrol and Everwinter Night, as well as several short films. The film is produced by Jon Balanoff, Adam McDonald, Adam Newman, and Jay Voishnis, and created by Dreamscape Productions.
It features a new creature designed by special effects artist Greg McDougall, who worked on Stranger Things and War of the Worlds.
